The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) veterinarian is responsible for ante mortem inspection and verification of post–mortem inspection and processor hygiene practices for compliance with an Approved Arrangement. On Plant Veterinarians (OPVs) ensure that export registered meat establishments are producing safe and wholesome meat in accordance with Australian legislation and also that of the requirements of our international markets.
Position locations include:
- Tasmania – Smithton (ongoing full time)
- Victoria – Colac and Melbourne Metro (non ongoing casuals)
- Queensland – Wallangarra (ongoing full time)
- New South Wales – Dubbo and Junee (ongoing full time)
- South Australia – possible various locations which include Peterborough & Adelaide Metro (non ongoing only)
- West Australia – Albany (ongoing full time)
- West Australia – possible various locations which includes Beaufort River (non ongoing casuals)
