As an Asset Performance Engineer you will develop and evaluate asset performance criteria that support corporate objectives
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and continuously evaluate Performance Indicators for each asset class with Executive approval.
- Prepare executive submissions for amendments to the Asset criteria.
- To undertake the development, application and evaluation of generation, transmission and distribution primary and secondary asset standards against criteria to achieve consistent, commercial and technically justified performance that support Horizon Power objectives.
- Undertake analysis of new equipment for inclusion into Horizon Power's asset portfolio.
- Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities for significant step change improvements in the application of assets into Horizon Power.
- Provide support to the districts for repairs to assets undertaken in Perth
- Participate in asset failure investigations and identify areas of improvement.
- Preparation of business cases for changes to standards, equipment lists and their submissions to management for approval.
- Provide guidance and coaching to the districts and other areas of Horizon Power on applicable standards and specifications of equipment.
- Approve design standards for Operations and regularly review for their effectiveness.
- Evaluate asset performance against asset class objectives and standards.
- Follow and review standards in line with the Standard Management Process across all of Horizon Power
QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION
A relevant Engineering Degree is essential.
Must possess WA Driver's Licence Class ‘C' or ‘C-A'
Eligibility for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of power system asset strategy, secondary asset (SCADA, Communications, and protections) strategy, investment, maintenance and operational processes, strategies and practices.
- Knowledge of power system generation, networks, transmission, sustainable energy and greenhouse gas abatement processes.
- Knowledge in the development, implementation and operation of IT based asset management, operational and maintenance planning systems.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental systems, policies and practices.
- Experience in the development of quality systems, standards, and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of customer and stakeholder interface practices.
- Preferably 5 years experience in an asset intensive, service focused industry.
- Best practice experience in the areas of managing business and people is essential
