Not confident if there is much infrastructure projects ahead in Victoria? Our client is a well known landmark client side infrastructure organisation in Melbourne. They would be used and recognised by almost every Victorian in their general life and offer a genuine work lifestyle balance for all employees. They are extremely profitable and the development plans look well past 2020.
The annual development program has increased massively over the past 5 years from $50m to in excess of $500m. The upcoming 5 years has over 200 initiatives already in place with a combined value in excess of $2bn. And there is already of talks for a further 5 years of work there after.
Due to an increase in projects they require 4x standards engineers across the disciplines of civil, mechanical and electrical, to develop an organisation focus of quality and control for design standards and expectations of new assets and projects being delivered.
All candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have developed standards previously.
The purpose of the role is to be accountable for supporting the delivery of the capital program, by way of developing quality technical standards, reviewing designs against standards and providing technical subject matter expertise to the project community.
The role will include Standards- develop, deliver and maintain a suite of quality technical standards that will set the expectations in the delivery, operation and maintenance of new assets. Project Management- Work with the Capital Program team and Asset Management Teams to ensure effective interface processes are in place for the effective management of Engineering Standards Department resource requirements and transition of Assets delivered from Capital projects at commissioning/practical completion. Safety and Security. Continuous Improvement. Stakeholder management and engagement.
The ideal candidate will have a mechanical degree. They must be able to demonstrate a history and the ability to develop standards. All candidates will have a minimum of 7 years experience. You must have excellent communication skills as stakeholder engagement, and building of relationships is essential. Digital Modelling (BIM / GIS) Systems and Development of standards, technical requirements, and document control governance is also crucial. All clients must have worked for a consultancy or another client side organisation in a similar background.
