Opening in 1866, the Dandenong Market is one of Australia’s oldest. With a recent $26 million redevelopment, its multicultural diversity and rich heritage provides a refreshing and traditional shopping experience for all ages.
Reporting to the Board, your primary responsibilities will be to lead the market into the future with a new strategic plan that includes development, community engagement, and innovation and promotes an environment that will be supportive of stallholders and makes the Dandenong Market a place the wider community can be proud of.
We are looking for a manager who can work autonomously as well as part of a team to achieve results. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders such as the executive board, council and our wonderful stall holders.
Key requirements:
• Promoting the Dandenong Market as the place to be for retail
• Ability to develop and implement strategic retail business plans
• Strong understanding of retail marketing
• Effective negotiation skills and ability
• History of successfully managing retail financials to set budgets
