An opportunity exists within the CH2M HILL Environmental Services Group in Sydney for an Environmental Engineer / Scientist with 2 - 4 years demonstrated experience in contaminated land management. The role
will be to support the delivery of contaminated land management and environmental projects primarily in New South Wales, but also interstate and internationally.

Our Sydney Environmental Services Group works on a wide range of exciting projects including characterisation through to remediation of contaminated soil, groundwater and sediment; due diligence reporting; rehabilitation and revegetation; landfill design and monitoring; and associated risk management for commercial and government clients throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific Region. Duties and Responsibilities:
- The role would involve providing support to project managers on contaminated land and other related consulting projects including:
- Carrying out assignments with minimal supervision as directed by Project Managers and safely deliver on clear and specific objectives within expected quality standards
- Preparation for and completion of fieldwork in the role of field leader, including the management of subcontractors and the collection of environmental samples, including soil, groundwater, landfill gas, stormwater and sediment samples
- Data evaluation and generation of consultants’ reports
- Providing technical guidance in areas of proven expertise
- Participating in larger teams on more complex projects
- Liaising with clients on specific tasks within projects
Background, Qualifications & Experience:
- An applicable engineering or science degree
- A proactive persona with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong proven technical and delivery background
- Permanent Residency of Australia or Australian citizenship essential
- 2 - 4 years minimum relevant experience
- A full current drivers licence is required
- GIS/MapInfo/ESdat experience would be favourably received
