The opportunity
 

We are looking for a Work Pack Officer, based at our alumina operation, Yarwun, to sort, compile and deliver job parts to designated jobs prior to the commencement of the job. You will also work closely with the Leadership team and peers to identify key issues and build solutions in order to enhance operational effectiveness.

Located 10km north-west of Gladstone in central Queensland, Yarwun is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto Alcan. The world class refinery incorporates leading edge technology and environmental design which are also featured in Yarwun 2; the current expansion to the refinery. Gladstone offers an enviable lifestyle encompassing fishing in the deep coral lagoons of the Barrier Reef to exploring the heights of Kroombit Tops.

What the role entails
 

This position is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with the ability to work in a challenging environment. Residentially based in Gladstone (Monday to Friday roster) and reporting to the Team Leader - Maintenance Material Handling, you will be:


  •     Ensuring availability of all parts required for the job
  •     Compiling work packs for materials and equipment
  •     Delivering work packs to the job site  and picking up equipment once the job is complete
  •     Complying with the site Health, Safety and Environment rules, policies, procedures and practices

What you will need for this role
 

To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will have:

  •     Good knowledge of safety as well as risk analysis systems and tools
  •     Strong written and verbal communication skills
  •     The ability to work in a team environment

A relevant trade qualification will be desirable.
