Salary: $108,242 - $125,181

At Fire & Rescue NSW our purpose is to enhance community safety, quality of life and confidence by
minimising the impact of hazards and emergency incidents on the people, environment and economy of NSW.
Working as part of the Operational Capability Directorate this position is responsible for the management and leadership of Fire & Rescue NSW's Community Fire Unit Program.
Within this role you will:
- lead a small dedicated team to support Community Fire Units established in bushland urban interface areas, and
- develop appropriate community engagement strategies to further grow this important program that assists local residents in bushfire prone area to protect their property.
- The below selection criteria forms a part of the selection process.
- Demonstrated senior management skills, including stakeholder engagement and policy development
- Ability to manage a high profile community program within an urban fire and rescue service
- Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience managing a community-based, volunteer program
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to forge professional relationships across FRNSW and other jurisdictions
- Good understanding of the impact of WHS legislation on a volunteer workforce
- Tertiary qualifications in related technical and/or management field or equivalent experience.
