We are currently seeking a Senior Projects Accountant – do you want to join our team?

The Dimension Data business globally employs 15,000 staff and manages many thousands of accounts worldwide. To be able to achieve success we need to be able to rely on our infrastructure.
Currently the business is going through a major SAP upgrade and we are looking for a skilled pair of hands to be part of a critical business change.
The Project Accountant performs the primary function of testing and ensuring the system integrity of the Simply To Accelerate (S2A) platform for Finance.
In this position you will be responsible for:
Quality Assurance
- Assist the Senior Finance Consultant (SFC) in compiling a list of test scripts
- Assist writing test scripts to QA the financial systems
- Assist in compilation of Finance test data and results
- Assist the SFC in proofing test scripts and results written by the business that have a financial impact
- Assist in performing the system tests
- Supervise and control Finance personnel in performing tests
- QA test results of the tests done by Finance and the business
- Document test pass / fail as per Global Information Systems (GIS) procedures
- Identifying with Finance users required changes in procedures due to differences between current SAP system and S2A SAP system.
- Liaise with the SFC on test results.
- Review & Improve Financial Systems
- Identify with the SFC areas of the system that could be improved or work in an inefficient manner.
Special Projects
Undertake special projects as assigned by NI Division CFO or NI Division Financial Controller
Your previous experience will include:
- SAP experience as an Accountant, preferably in organisations that used the following SAP modules:
- FI-CO, MM, SM, PS, SD
- Experience in accounting for product sales, professional services and maintenance services
- Experience with SAP FI-CO modules including profit centre ledger, cost ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets.
- Excellent commercial knowledge
- Excellent written and oral skills, as liaison with non-accounting personnel will occur
- Experience in systems analysis and design
- Ability to deal with senior management
- Ability to supervise junior finance personnel in the performance of their duties
- Ability to cope with large volumes of data and have attention to detail
- Pro-active, curious nature with a desire to uncover error, inefficiencies and shortcomings
