The opportunity
We are looking for a Mobile Equipment Service Person, based at our iron ore operation, Tom Price, for carrying out maintenance activities on mobile mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park, Tom Price is Rio Tinto's original Pilbara mine, currently employing about 950 people mainly on residential rosters. What the role entails
This position is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with maintenance experience and a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement. Residentially based in Tom Price (3 days on, 3 nights on and 6 off roster) and reporting to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, you will be:
- Servicing and refuelling a range of mobile mining equipment including haul trucks, shovels, dozers and drills
- Operating service trucks and other heavy mobile equipment
- Executing scheduled lubrication services on mobile mining equipment
- Reporting equipment faults and assisting a team of maintainers in a workshop environment
- Performing all activities in alignment with the Rio Tinto Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in a workshop or maintenance environment within the mining or a similar heavy industry
Proven experience in servicing heavy mobile equipment preferably Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi and Terex
A strong commitment towards safety
A manual current and unrestricted Heavy Rigid (HR) or higher driver's licence will be highly regarded. A Western Australia Forklift ticket will be desirable.
