Role
The position is responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of the payroll year end processes for
Australian and New Zealand employees. The successful candidate will join the supportive team in our Sydney office on a 12 month fixed term contract, working 3-4 days per week.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurate calculation and lodgement and payment of payroll tax, superannuation, garnishee and workers compensation in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Accurate maintenance of employee master data .
- Process 4 payrolls with our outsourced payroll provider to ensure all changes and funding requirements met the relevant timeline.
- Timely month end processing of general ledger entries in relation to payroll, payroll tax, superannuation, annual leave and long service leave provisions and preparation of month end reconciliations for all payroll related general ledger accounts.
- Respond to employee requests in relation to leave balances/payroll queries.
- Reporting of leave balances to managers as required to ensure timely usage of employee leave entitlements.
- Master file changes for the employees of various Global Business Units are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with the Payroll processing on a Fortnightly/Monthly basis within HR Shared Services environment for various Global Business Units when required.
Qualifications, skills & Knowledge
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in processing payroll for 400 employees preferably with ADP or Chris 21 experience
- Good Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll requirements
- Knowledge of Electronic Service portal management (and implementation)
- Intermediate Excel and Word skills (Microsoft Office)
- Must have experience in working in cross matrix functions within a global business
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have good understanding of legislation requirements
- Good co-ordination and interpersonal skills
