Our client, a State Government department are looking for an interim qualified and experienced Chief Financial Officer for a 3 month contract based in Sydney CBD.
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic department that is responsible for some of the largest marketing campaigns that are rolled out across the state.
The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the finance functions, which include financial management, government and regulatory reporting to ensure the department acts in accordance with government requirements.
Overview of duties:
- Routine processing of the financial accounts and maintenance of proper and efficient controls over assets.
- Negotiate with NSW Treasury in respect to securing and maintaining ongoing funding.
- Provide high level analysis to the Executive team.
- Manage Authority's risk environment and produce, review and maintain accounting and governance policy and procedures.
- Management of legal activities to ensure they are conducted in line with the Authority's processes and procedures and in compliance with Government and statutory regulations.
- Direct management of Procurement activities ensuring tenders and briefs are correctly prepared, conducted and registered.
- Provide operational direction and leadership.
Experience required:
CA/CPA Qualified
At least 10 years' experience in a similar role.
High level experience of working with Boards and ability to act as a Board Secretary.
You must be politically astute and experienced in working with Government financial processes and relevant legislation and have experience of working with Treasury, Ministers and their offices.
