    $140K base + $25K location allowance (integrated into monthly salary), 9% super, relocation assistance
    Full-time permanent
    Subsidised Housing: included ($50 p/w in rent - applicant to pay)
    Roster: Monday to Friday - 7am - 4pm

    A Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to provide key plant performance advice and Engineering technical support to the Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Plant Operations and Maintenance teams at an ammonium nitrate facility.

    Our client is a leading supplier of industrial explosives and blasting services to the mining, quarrying, seismic and construction industries.     The facility comprises ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plants plus infrastructure,
    utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce. The project has the support of long-term contractual commitments from four major global mining companies for the bulk of planned output.

    In more detail your role will include:

    Provide technical support to maintainers, technicians, planners plant engineers and graduate engineers.
    Help facilitate the development of ideas and opportunities to improve rotating machinery health or performance.
    Undertaking and organising the technical investigations, inspections, studies and surveys, and analysing all historical data, to determine rotating equipment risk and criticality.
    Developing engineering statistical reliability studies from the risk and criticality data
    Updating and modifying plant maintenance strategies to reflect reliability improvements.
    Complete equipment failure investigation and mitigation using root cause analysis techniques
    Maintain a general awareness of the operations and maintenance of Rotating equipment such as compressors, turbines, generators, pumps and fans.
    Compile engineering and safety standards for the plant.
    Set training requirements and priorities based on strategic direction and skills requirements of the team
    Improve site standards following the MOC Process for the site

    To apply for this role you should possess:


  •     Engineering Standards and Statutory requirements for Ammonium Nitrate and Nitric Acid Plants
  •     Senior Mechanical Engineer
  •     Education: Bachelor of Engineering Mechanical; or equivalent industry experience that would otherwise satisfy IEAust Chartered Professional Engineer status
  •     Experience: 10 years in engineering maintenance with at least 3 years in the reliability of rotating equipment.
  •     RPEQ Engineer and chartered status preferred.
  •     Root cause analysis; Incident investigation (e.g.ICAMS); 6-sigma training Technical: Computer literate; MS Word, Excel
  •     Adobe Writer and SAP business systems
  •     Sound Condition Monitoring Knowledge
  •     Demonstrated ability in optimising reliability by means of RCA, design and analysis.
  •     Strong data analysis & analytical skills
  •     Maintenance Management Systems using RCM and SAP Systems
