Place, the Support Service for Victoria’s ‘Forgotten Australians’ is a
service that co-ordinates and provides direct assistance to address the
needs of people who grew up in orphanages and homes during the last
century.
We are seeking a mature, organised, self-motivated
Administration Officer to join our team. Previous experience working in a
Community Services Organisation is essential.
The primary
responsibility of this role is to manage and maintain the front desk
area as well as providing a variety of clerical and administrative
support tasks for the Open Place team.
To succeed in this role
you will have good time management and organisational skills, the
ability to negotiate with others, and have clear and friendly
communications skills.
You must have an intermediate level of
computer skills in MS Word & PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. The
ability to touch type accurately and at a reasonable speed and
produce high quality professional work is essential.
Occasionally
the Administration Officer will interact with service users who have
experienced considerable trauma and may exhibit challenging behaviour.
As with all Open Place staff, the Administration Officer is expected to
act in a professional and respectful manner and ensure that the person
is referred to the relevant staff member as soon as possible.
