than 5 kilometres from Muswellbrook, the mine produces around 20 million tonnes
of energy coal annually for local and international customers.

Due to an internal transfer the
business critical role of Principle Mining Engineer is now available in the
Resource Planning and Development team. Reporting to the Manager of Mine
Plannning for NSW Energy Coal, you will be working as part of a close knit team
of highly experienced professionals and will enjoy wide ranging
responsibilities including;
- Developing sophisticated mining strategies to maximise value
- Preparing mid to long term mining schedules and capital/operating cost estimates
- Contributing to the NSWEC corporate alignement planning ( Life-Of-Asset, 5 year Plans etc)
- Providing resource development guidance to short-term planners and operations
- Optimising current mining systems from excavation to spoil emplacement
- The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in Mining / Civil Engineering, have highly developed software skills - including manipulation of specialist mining packages (Deswik, Vulcan) - and possess:
- Substantial experience in operating open cut mines, with significant exposure to planning
- Experience in mine feasibility or optimisation studies
- Mid to Long term strategic mine planning skills
- Project planning and delivery skills
- Financial modelling skills
