BHP Billiton Petroleum is a significant oil and gas explorer, and producer,
with major producing assets in Australia, the United Kingdom, the Gulf of
Mexico (US), Algeria, Pakistan and Trinidad and Tobago.
The Australian Production Unit (APU) manages the existing FPSO Stybarrow
Venture (WA), the FPSO Pyrenees Venture (WA), the Dampier Supply Base (WA), the
Minerva Onshore Gas Plant (Vic) and the Macedon Gas Plant (WA).
POSITION SYNOPSIS

Based in Perth in a contracting role for a period of 12 months, the
Reservoir Engineer will play a key role in the management of BHP Billiton's
Non-Operated assets in the North West Shelf and Bass Strait. The role will be
broadly responsible for subsurface depletion planning, identification of
production enhancement opportunities through infill drilling and work overs,
production forecasting, network modelling and reserves reporting.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the role contributes to ensuring
the North West Shelf Venture and Bass Strait operations are executed in line
with BHP Billiton HSEC and Risk Standards. The Reservoir Engineer will be
involved in the definition, evaluation and management of brownfield and new
development projects as well as involvement in production reporting, budgets
and business planning.

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Engineering or Science
and bring to the role significant Reservoir Engineering experience in
production operations, project management and field development planning.
In addition to the core Reservoir Engineering skills and experience
required, your accomplishments thus far in your career will testify to your
excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This role will utilise your effective
negotiation skills and sound judgement, and demonstrate your ability to build
productive relationships with a diversity of stakeholders.
The Reservoir Engineer would ideally be strongly skilled in Petrel
RE/Eclipse and the Petroleum Experts Suite.
Knowledge of economics packages would be advantageous.
