Background Information:
BMA mines have a combined production capacity of approximately 54 million
tonnes per year.
Saraji Mine is an open cut mine producing high‑grade hard‑coking coal. The
mine is located north of the Dysart township.
Dysart is located approximately three hours south west of Mackay and
caters to Saraji mine as well as many surrounding cattle and grain properties.
Dysart has a population of approximately 3,100 people with a number of sporting
and social clubs in the region.
About the role:
Saraji Mine is seeking a highly skilled and process driven Superintendent
Maintenance Analysis and Improvement to join our Maintenance Department. Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, this
position is responsible for the overall reliability coordination of all site
equipment, ensuring maximum availability and capability to life cycles to
guarantee the mine can operate to its business plan.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Implement BMA safety standards and core values;
- Lead a focused team of reliability professionals;
- Develop master data and maintenance strategies across site;
- Lead process improvements to ensure optimised performance for site;
- Conduct reliability studies on equipment;
- Data analysis of maintenance history to determine short and long term strategies;
- Provide leadership and mentoring to direct reports;
- Lead and participate in site based improvement projects as required;
- Lead failure analysis investigation (including Root Cause Analysis); and
- Play a lead role in the LEAN implementation across the department and the broader site.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Engineering or post trade qualifications relevant to the role;
- Demonstrated experience in a similar reliability role;
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to implement and drive change;
- Experience in 1SAP is a must;
- Business Improvement skills such as Six Sigma or LEAN; and
- Previous experience with Root Cause Analysis and ICAM investigations.

focused leader with the ability to mentor and develop site personnel. You will
have the ability to influence and motivate team members while maintaining and
promoting constructive rapport at every level of a large and diverse workforce.
